Pennsylvania American Water Company recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new ADA accessible fishing pier on October 30, 2018 at Griffin Reservoir in Lackawanna County, PA. The project was a joint effort between Pennsylvania American Water Company and the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance. The new pier provides direct access to the reservoir for the public and those with disabilities, and was funded by a grant from the American Water Charitable Foundation with additional funds from the USA’s United Mine Workers of America Conservation Dinner. ATC Group Services donated all site design materials and regulatory permitting services necessary to construct this project. ATC engineers, Zachary S. Smith and Jack Scheuer, contributed their expertise to make this project possible.

“Pennsylvania American Water is extremely proud of the new Griffin Reservoir public fishing pier as it gives community members of all ages and physical abilities improved access to one of our great natural resources.  Without ATC’s vast expertise, great dedication and generous commitment to this endeavor, I can say without a doubt that this project would not have become the great success that it is” – Dan Rickard, P.E., Engineering Manager with PA American Water Company
